I live in a log cabin studio that turns into an oven on hot days. This unit was easy to install and works wonders to cool down the whole room. Even just running it on the fan setting makes a difference when I need some air flow.

Several Months old now and an excellent unit. Is cooling and dehumidifying my basement.Only complaint is the exhaust hose is to short to vent via the basement window. It would be great if a longer hose was available. Solved the problem by placing the unit on a 20 inch high platform!

12000 BTU Frigidaire Portable A/C

I chose this Frigidaire portable air conditioner for my Florida room addition that always seemed to be a couple degrees warmer than the rest of the house. In addition, when the need arises, this a/c will act as a backup during power failure from storms/hurricanes. Just plug it in to my inverter generator and good to go. The feature I like best over other units that I saw for the same price is this unit has an auto feature, so it is not continually running when the desired temperature is reached.

I™€™m very satisfied with my purchase. Purchased to use in a two car garage and it works pretty well. On 100 plus degree days, I™€™m able to keep it around 79-80 degrees which isn™€™t bad because it would be unbearable without it. The ability to use the app and the programming features really sold me. Overall very satisfied with this product and would highly recommend.

This unit started out strong. A portable AC purchased late last summer used a few hours. Up and running this summer and now blows hot air. Frigidaire doesn™€™t back it product or care about its customer there answer buy a new one or pay for repair

This is my second Frigidaire Portable unit™€¦

And not by choice. 2 weeks before the warranty ran out on my first unit, it died. It gave every indication that it was cooking, but it was blowing hot air. This was the first day into our first heatwave In Massachusetts. I called I immediately, and reported the issue and no problem at all getting it replaced. It came a week after the heatwave was over. We are into our 3rd heatwave of the season, and the 2nd for this new unit. So far so good. The test will come next summer, after a few months of sitting idle. The unfortunate issue is, the warranty is for 1 year from the date of purchase, of the ORIGINAL unit. This brand new unit that I received from the manufacturer, was out of warranty before it even arrived. If this one fails over the winter months, then this is a 2 year relationship between Frigidaire and myself.

Compressor Failure and Fire Hazard

I purchased a 12,000 BTU FHPW122AC1 unit in June 2019. The compressor quit 3 years later in August 2022. I purchased a replacement FHPW122AC1 unit in August 2022. On September 2nd, 2023 at 3:30am, the A/C was running and I was woken up by a loud explosion sound. Red glow could be seen through the A/C white plastic body for a few seconds followed by melted plastic smell coming from inside the unit. Smoke was coming out for half an hour after the unit was unplugged with much difficulty. The explosion inside the unit caused a significant power surge which resulted in the power plug overheated and melted to the power outlet. This could potentially have resulted in a serious fire hazard. I had owned Frigidaire portable A/C units before but never had one that failed within 3 years and another one exploded. I am greatly appalled and disappointed by Frigidaire.

Does A Great Job Cooling Off, But It Has To Be Managed Manually

If you are looking for a unit that will keep you cool this is definitely it. One of the main reasons I bought this unit though was for the auto shut off feature. When it reaches the temp that I set it at the condenser DOES turn off, but the fan just keeps going and going. It appears to be how the unit functions. I was hoping it would be like units I have had in the past where it shuts down the fan and condenser once reaching desired temp. It is not the quietest unit, but it also will not keep you awake at night.

Zero Stars - Two defective units and counting

I purchased this from BJs in May of this year. It worked fine for a month or so, then began leaking. A replacement unit was sent under warranty, but I could not set it up right away as I needed to get help moving the unit upstairs. I just tried it out for the first time last evening and this unit is not cooling. The compressor kicks on, but no cool air comes out. Now they want to sent me yet another replacement. Really?? What possible reason do I have to believe that the second replacement will actually work? I already had to pay someone (twice) to haul these things up and down the stairs. Now I'm going to have to pay someone to haul these two pieces of junk to the dump. I just want to cut my losses and get my money back from the original purchase.

I was using an LG stand up conditioner which ultimately stopped working. This air conditioner right from the start was significantly better. The air blows cold, the sway option is awesome. I live in a 500 sqft studio and it cools the unit completely. Delivery was double the time I was expecting it but that doesn™€™t impact that this unit is 5 stars.

We loved this unit that we purchased at BJ™€™s in August of 2022. It was a game changer! Unfortunately last week it started to fill with water and send an error code. It will run but not cool the air, just dehumidify it when in the cool setting. Not sure what to do now with this $400 unit.

SPENT MOST OF LAST NIGHT AND THIS MORNING CREATING A WINDOW KIT BECAUSE I HAVE AN ODD SHAPED WINDOW. FINALLY AS THE TEMPURATUE HIT 100F I PLUGGED THE UNIT IN AND WENT TO LUNCH. ON MY WAY I NOTICED THE SORRY EXCUSE FOR A SCREEN HAD COME LOSE SO I WENT OUT TO TIGHTEN IT CLOSEING IT, I NOTICED A BREEZE EMERGING FROM THE OPENING. SINCE THERE WAS COOL (CCOMPARED TO 100F) AIR COMING OUT I EXPECTED THINGS WERE LOOKING UP. BUT WHEN I RETURNED FROM LUNCH THE THING WAS BLOWING HOT AIR . THERE WAS NO ICE ON THE COIL.
